Level 1: 3+ Years’ Experience

  • Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements.

  • Map business objectives to application/architecture requirements;

  • Evaluate application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications;

  • Assist in defining architecture foundation leveraging, storage and network services (including network security);

  • Migrate, test, and pilot new or existing applications in coordination with business and technical teams;

  • Communicate to SSC’s Business clients on how they can access and manage (if applicable) the provisioned architecture resources;

  • Configure and implement backup strategies and services for IaaS as well as PaaS services that require backups;

  • Provide best practice guidance on the architectural design across multiple applications/infrastructure and projects of the enterprise;

  • Implement cost-control strategies;

  • Architect a continuous integration and deployment process;

  • Design highly scalable DB architectures to be consumed by the applications;

  • Design and architect a transit network for communication between multiple endpoints;

  • Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, either for an organization or for a major application area, to meet the business and application requirements;

  • Identify policies and requirements that drive out a particular solution;

  • Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet business problems;

  • Ensure the integration of all aspects of technology solutions;

  • Evaluate hardware and software relative to their ability to support specified requirements and, by determining potential and actual bottlenecks, and improve system performance through recommended hardware change;

  • Review computer software systems and data requirements as well as communication and response needs and determine operating systems and languages needed to support them;

  • Help define the range of business opportunity available to SSC and in the wider market in which SSC’s Architecture organization could credibly operate in;

  • Support the identification, analysis and prioritization of new opportunities through extensive competitive research, local market analysis and financial modeling;

  • Support the evaluation of potential new products/services in the marketplace through primary and secondary research and analysis;

  • Assist in assessing the feasibility of migrating from the current state to the target business architecture and enabling technologies and in identifying the risks associated with migrating to the target business architecture and technologies and make recommendations for risk mitigation;

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior leadership and management as needed;.

  • Support senior team members in managing the active pipeline for sourcing opportunities in line with SSC’s Architecture strategy;

  • Assist in the development of complex financial models to determine appropriate valuations and investment cases for potential opportunities;

  • Support transactions with ad-hoc research and analysis as needed to validate or improve key assumptions;

  • Develop internal presentations to executives to provide updates and recommendations on potential transactions;

  • Share architecture knowledge, considerations and best-practices with current IT staff.
