Support development of SSC’s IT Architecture business strategy and strategic priorities by supporting the analysis of complex business issues to help develop actionable plans;
Help define the range of business opportunity available to SSC and in the wider market in which SSC’s IT Architecture organization could credibly operate in;
Support the identification, analysis and prioritization of new opportunities through extensive competitive research, local market analysis and financial modeling;
Support the evaluation of potential new products/services in the marketplace through primary and secondary research and analysis;
Assist in assessing the feasibility of migrating from the current state to the target business architecture and enabling technologies and in identifying the risks associated with migrating to the target business architecture and technologies and make recommendations for risk mitigation;
Assist in the preparation of presentations to senior leadership and management as needed;
Support senior team members in managing the active pipeline for sourcing opportunities in line with SSC’s IT Architecture strategy;
Assist in the development of complex financial models to determine appropriate valuations and investment cases for potential opportunities;
Producing architectural evolution plan, recommend prioritization of architecture evolution initiatives, and develop and/or implement an architecture evolution plan.
Manage the development and implementation of an architectural improvement plan.
Support transactions with ad-hoc research and analysis as needed to validate or improve key assumptions;
Develop internal presentations to executives to provide updates and recommendations on potential transactions;
Identify future IT Architecture requirements against the current enterprise architecture, perform gaps analyses, develop Requirements for Technology Architectures (RTA), and prepare migration strategies. Assess the feasibility of migrating from the current state to the target business architecture and enabling technologies and identify the risks associated with migrating to the target business architecture and technologies and make recommendations for risk mitigation;
Identify business and technology trends that create opportunities for business improvement, advise business and Senior Executives on trends and emerging technologies and the impact on the organization's and government architectures and business strategies, model "What if" scenarios and recommend appropriate changes to the existing architecture and IT Architecture infrastructure, and recommend alternative solutions, methodologies and strategies;
Conduct research and analysis of case studies regarding other government IT Architecture first and Digital modernization projects and service strategies and evolution, and sourcing strategies;
Analyze research findings to formulate recommendations; and
Transfer of knowledge to SSC staff as applicable.
Evaluate the enterprise's business/Information and Communications Technology (ICT) architecture, determine its consistency and integration with the organization's business/ICT strategies, assess the degree of its alignment with Treasury Board Chief Information Officer (CIO) Business Transformation Enablement Program (BTEP) and Federated Architecture Program (FAP) and recommend changes to the business/ICT architecture to improve its alignment with these external factors.
